Plytix FAQs
The basics
A PIM platform is the single source of truth where all your product information (descriptions, prices, images, SKUs, and more) lives. Plytix takes things a step further by making it easy to distribute your product information wherever you need it. You can sell anywhere using Channels, and create online catalogs with Brand Portals.

It’s almost impossible to sell online in this day and age without PIM software. Selling online is no longer about just setting up your webstore and ranking on Google. To make the most of your online business, you need to be selling on multiple channels like Amazon, Google Shopping, Facebook, and more! But the more sites you sell on, the harder it is to manage product information in spreadsheets (think inaccurate data, formatting errors, and time wasted doing it all manually).
That’s where Plytix comes in. Plytix is a collaboration tool where you can bring all your product data together and get it ready for everywhere you sell.
Anyone who sells online can benefit from a PIM, but you definitely need one if you’re managing over 100 products and/or selling on more than one channel. Plytix is the only PIM specially made (and priced!) for small to medium-sized businesses.
Yes, you can also use our PIM for Digital Asset Management (DAM)! Manage, format, and resize images, PDFs, and all file types directly in Plytix.
Pricing
Our prices are lower than the other big names, thanks for noticing!
Though anyone can use it, our PIM is the only one designed and priced for small to medium-sized businesses. One way we achieve that lower price is by including unlimited users in all of our plans. This helps keep our prices fair and our conscience clear, since we know we're doing all we can to help you—not to squeeze every last cent out of you.
And just because our prices are lower than the enterprise-grade software out there, doesn’t mean we skimp on quality. You don’t have to take our word for it—read what they’re saying about us on G2.
All you need to do is book a demo for a free account or for a free trial of our paid plans. Your free account will be free forever, although it won't include all of the features that our paid plans do. Your free trial of our paid plans will include all of our features and our dedicated account management.
We have five plans: Free, Lite, Pro, Premium, and Enterprise.
Our Free plan is a good solution for companies looking for a powerful PIM to replace their spreadsheets and folders. It doesn’t include any outputs.
What’s an output, you ask? Great question. “Outputs” in Plytix help you share your product data outside the PIM. You can use each output to set up 1 channel or 1 brand portal.
You get up to 3 outputs in Lite, 10 outputs in Pro, 50 outputs in Premium, and unlimited in Enterprise.

Product Information Management is not a one person job. We believe that PIM software needs to make collaboration easier between your team, and we won’t put anything in the way of that. All Plytix plans include unlimited users.

Nope! Plytix is easy to use and intuitive, so you can dive in and get started right away.
Plytix helps you distribute product information anywhere online using one of the two main methods:
-
Channels: build product feeds that automatically populate with all your product data, so you can stop manually filling out templates.
-
Brand Portals: share always up-to-date online catalogs with anyone.
Or, if you’re using the free version of Plytix you can export your product information in CSV or XLSX format and then manually format the file for your sales channels. (Our paid feature, Channels, takes the manual work out of this process.)
Plytix was made for teams of all sizes! Whether you’re a one-person show or a team of 500, using Plytix is easy. You won’t need to hire anyone additional to get the most out of the PIM. In fact, because Plytix makes creating and updating product information easier, you’ll even be able to free up some time to work on other important tasks like finding new ways to sell more.
We sure do! Our open REST API allows you to connect with any system, both to bring data into Plytix and to share it from Plytix to other platforms.

We don’t have a white label version of our PIM, but you can share your product information in fully-customized Brand Portals featuring your logo, fonts, colors, and images.

Security
All files are stored in Amazon’s Simple Cloud Storage Service (S3). This is the cloud service with the tightest security available, and allows the system to run fast in all parts of the world.
Plytix is built with MongoDB, a document-oriented database used to store all product information and account data.
Here are some highlights. We’re happy to share more details with you—just get in touch!
- All passwords are encrypted with SHA-256 and salted with randomized values to ensure that not even Plytix staff can read the passwords upon looking into the database.
- Users and Plytix agents are authenticated by stateless token-based authentication, in order to prevent session hijacking while maintaining high performance. App-based two-factor authentication is required for Plytix agents to access tools like our platform backoffice where we manage Plytix accounts and users.
- All access to the system is logged thoroughly and we retain rich audit logs where everything is closely monitored.
- Plytix does not store any credit card information whatsoever. All storing of billing information and transactions are operated by our payment processor, Stripe. Their security meets the absolute highest industry standards and guidelines.
- The application code, database, configuration profiles and digital assets are automatically backed up regularly to S3, and duplicated in different S3 instances.
